Business Details

Paddle Power Adventures offers white water river rafting, abseiling and adventures on the Crocodile River, in Broederstroom, near Hartbeespoort Dam.

Paddle Power Adventures offer river rafting trips down the Crocodile River (don’t worry there aren’t actually any crocodiles in this river!) near the Hartbeespoort Dam. These rafting trips can be enjoyed by both novice and experienced canoeists with professional guides ensuring the highest safety standards along the way.

As you float down the river there are grade 1, 2 and 3 (in the rainy season) rapids to be tackled as well as tight narrows although along much of the river you will also be able to paddle along gently admiring the scenery as you go. Angling enthusiasts will enjoy the many opportunities to catch fish along the river, and avid bird-watchers will appreciate the great array of birdlife that can be spotted here.

An average day trip covers approximately 16km and close to 18 rapids. The journey also includes a stop for a picnic lunch enjoyed along the river banks. Take a 2-day trip with an overnight stay half way through the journey in a tented camp, or for a lighter introduction to river rafting there is a half-day trip option.

Activities at Paddle Power Adventures

Let us put together a day of fun and adventure for you. You can mix and match or just do one activity and then relax at our restaurant or have a picnic at one of our beautiful sites.

We operate 7 days per week throughout the year.

River Rafting

Paddle Power river rafting is a lot of fun. You have 2 people in an inflatable raft/boat and you paddle for about 5 kms down the Crocodile River.

We take children from 7 years upwards. Either a parent/guardian goes with the little ones or we put them in a raft with a guide.

You are each equipped with a life jacket and a helmet. Each trip including getting kitted up, transport to where you put the boats in the water, the safety talk and the paddling takes about 2hours.

Mark Gray, a qualified abseil supervisor, who has 12 years experience and has provided controlled, incident-free descents for thousands of clients with no previous abseiling experience during this period is in charge of our abseiling activities.

We do not believe in rushed, production line abseiling which is why we limit our groups to a minimum of four and a maximum of 14 people. We take children from 12 years upwards.

Archery / Crossbow

Come and spend a couple of hours at Paddle Power, challenging your colleagues and friends to see who is most accurate in the ancient art of Crossbow.

This activity requires a minimum of 6 people booking together as a group and is ideal for corporate team builds, bachelor parties and other functions.

Paddle Power offers a top selection of hiking activities for a fun-filled adventure.

Bachelor and Bachelorette parties

Paddle Power hosts many Bachelor and Bachelorette parties throughout the year.

River rafting, team games, crossbow are all on offer. We have picnic facilities and our onsite restaurant which offer food and drink and whatever sport is on TV.
